Mazón defends the choice of Valencia for a NNGG event: "It's a great show of support."

The president of the Valencian People's Party (PP) and president of the Generalitat (Catalan Government), Carlos Mazón, took advantage of the closing ceremony of a national New Generations event in Valencia this Sunday to demand his party's support for the Valencian Community. The PP leader, who attended the closing ceremony of the 2nd National School on Electoral Campaigns organized by New Generations and held this weekend at the PPCV headquarters in Valencia, thanked the NNGG for choosing the city of the Túria.
This can be interpreted not only as a symbol of the importance of Valencia as a city and the Valencian Community as a region of Spain, "but also as a great show of support," the Valencian People's Party (PP) stated in a statement. The media had not been informed of the presence of the Valencian president at the closing ceremony.
The PP interprets the act as support and recalls that the European PP also chose ValenciaIn this way, through a statement sent this afternoon, the Valencian People's Party (PP) emphasized that just a few weeks ago, "the European People's Party also chose Valencia." A circumstance that Mazón seized upon: "It's curious that at the moment of greatest abandonment by the Spanish government, we are finding in our own party the gestures, the encouragement, the support, the warmth, the closeness, and the determination that we are not seeing anywhere else."
It's worth remembering that Mazón's visit to the EPP congress held at the Valencia Fair was brief, as the Valencian leader neither attended the opening nor stayed for the family photo. He did spend a few minutes with Alberto Núñez Feijóo, but without much enthusiasm from the party's national president.

Mazón's statements, provided by the press office of the People's Party (PP) in the Valencian Community, come at a time when doubts about the future of the Valencian president have not yet dissipated and the convening of the national congress for next July, only fuel speculation about the continuity of the Consell leader.

Mazón has linked his future to reconstruction after the devastation that left 228 dead, but it is unclear whether he will be able to complete his term, as internal pressure has not dissipated despite public statements of support, such as the one made the other day in an interview with La Vanguardia by the Minister of Education and Mazón's good friend, José Antonio Rovira.
Regarding his role as president of the Popular Party of the Valencian Community, Mazón recalled that when he assumed the presidency in 2021, one of his objectives was "to demonstrate that bullrings could be filled again and that we could win the regional elections and end the regime that has existed for 8 years, a Catalanist regime, of fiscal hell, of lack of freedom" and "we went from 19 deputies in Les Corts to 40."
We showed that bullrings could be filled again.
"Never before has the Popular Party grown so much anywhere in Spain," the PP leader emphasized. "We have all three provincial councils, six of the seven most important cities in the Valencian Community governed by us, and we had won the Valencian Generalitat by a much larger margin."
